Blunt Cerebrovascular Injury

Dr. Sam Kim and Dr. Greg Ratcliffe from the department of diagnostic injury at HSC, will lead a presentation and discussion on blunt cerebrovascular injury (BCVI), a topic in which there have been some large publications in the last year.

While traditionally clinical and diagnostic imaging criteria have been used to screen for potential BCVI, there have been calls for universal screening in major trauma activations.

While this is a different format than usual, some relevant papers to check out are listed below:

  1. Best practice guidelines for blunt cerebrovascular injury

  2. BCVI: the case for universal screening

  3. Universal screening for BCVI

Please RRSP below, a link will be sent out the day prior to the event to registered emails.

All medical professions are invited to join!
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this event will be held on Zoom and RSVP’s are required.
